The Department of Persian was established in the year 1935. The founder faculty of the Department was Moulana Abdul Karim Mazumder. Thereafter, Mehrab Ali Laskar, Hachim Ali, and Abdur Rehman served the department. At present, Dr. Shahin Ahmed Barbhuiya and Dr. Begum Ayesha Sultana Laskar are serving the department. The Department of Persian has catered to the aspirations of students in the society to study the Persian language. The Department has been instrumental in building the platform for the students to pursue higher studies in the subject.
